Managing Partner

For over thirty years, Dr. Ortiz has assessed, coached, and developed executives from the world’s leading companies to create sustainable improvements in individual and organizational performance. His work has helped companies such as American Express, Bank of America, BlackRock, Blackstone, Boehringer Ingelheim, Citigroup, Johnson & Johnson, General Mills, Miltenyi, Nike, Rolls Royce, Royal Dutch Shell, Saudi ARAMCO, and Time Warner measure the leadership skills that impact key business drivers and establish targeted plans for increased effectiveness.


Adam brings a broad and pragmatic perspective to his clients’ unique business needs and circumstances. Adam is particularly known for his work assessing C-suite and senior executives and helping them develop core leadership capabilities in areas such as communication, influence, building talent, managing conflict, and judgement and decision-making. He also works with clients to develop a pipeline of talent to succeed in their respective markets. Adam’s experience, business insight, and empathy have made him a trusted advisor and long-term partner for his clients.


Adam’s work draws from his own experience as an organizational psychologist, business leader, and entrepreneur. Adam is a founding member of EDC’s Partner group. Previously, Adam held executive leadership positions at Time Warner and Bank of America. In these organizations, he was instrumental in the design and implementation of talent management and development solutions. In addition, he spent several years with Personnel Decisions International, where he designed and managed large-scale talent solutions and provided executive assessment and coaching services. He began his career with the United States Air Force. During this time, he worked with Air Force managers and leaders in environments such as the Persian Gulf, to adapt their skills to the special demands of the military.


Adam graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Social Psychology from Park College in Parkville, Missouri, and received his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a licensed Psychologist in the state of Minnesota.


Adam lives in North Carolina with his wife and his dog, Bernie. He enjoys spending time with his adult daughter, and he is an avid runner and reader. He is an active member of his community, supporting local charities and non-profit organizations.
